# About Financier

Financier turns your own bank data into a plain personal finance plan: where your money goes and what you can spend today. What it is, how it works, and what it will not do.

## What Financier is

A planning tool, not a bank and not an adviser. It reads your accounts, works out where your money actually goes, and what you can spend today.

## How it works

- Paychecks are found as they repeat and counted at their real size; spending uses three-month averages, so one odd month does not skew the plan.
- Merchants are categorised from your bank's data, a categorisation service (TypeSafe) and a keyword ruleset. You can correct any category and the correction sticks.
- Every number in the plan traces back to your transactions.

## What it will not do

- Move money, open accounts for you, or sell your data.
- Recommend specific investments.
- Keep your data in our database after you delete your account.
